Chef Sara brings a love of eclectic cuisines and passion for pastries to The Rendezvous kitchen. After beginning her culinary career in high school as a flambé cook at the Corvallis Country Club, Sara took a long and winding route to her lifelong goal of becoming a pastry chef. Along the way she graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Restaurant Management before heading into the world of wholesale produce buying and distribution. Eventually, Sara moved to Welches and, in 2000, began her career at The Rendezvous, working her way up to Sous Chef for Chef Kathryn Bliss. Since her original stint at The ‘Vous, Sara ventured off to manage the vegetarian kitchen at Breitenbush Hot Spring Resort, serve as Administrative Assistant at Hoodland Fire Department, and manage the bookstore at Tara Mandala Retreat Center in Colorado before returning to the Rendezvous Grill as Pastry Chef and, most recently, Head Chef.
